Jim Kollaer, FAIA, Managing Director
Kollaer Advisors, LLC is a Houston based solo practice consulting firm. The firm, created in 2008, provides coaching and confidential strategic advice to business leaders on a wide range of real estate, strategic planning, marketing, leadership, non-profit and economic development issues. If your assignment requires them, like a jazz group, we have a preferred group of professionals who join our team for a gig or two when we need additional players to accomplish assignments for our clients. As Managing Director of the firm, I bring a broad range of marketing and coaching experience to your assignment making me and our team of professionals well suited to advise and coach you, whether a business owner or executive, on the critical skills you need to be high functioning in your business roles and in your communities. For the last 13 years, Kollaer Advisors worked with a team of partners to provide strategic marketing, web influencing, coaching and team building services for private company and non-profit leadership. We have provided one-on-one coaching to a variety of executives and business owners. I served as a partner with the Staubach Company, a global real estate firm that represented corporate and institutional users of real estate. The Staubach firm merged into Jones Lang Lasalle in 2008 and currently serves a global client base. I served as President/CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) for 15 years. This non-profit is the Houston region's primary business organization and was formed by combining the Houston Chamber of Commerce, the World Trade association and the Houston Economic Development Corporation. In my role, I led the organization from its infancy to its current role as an award winning Chamber and Economic Development organization. I served a board of directors comprised of 135 business CEOs and community leaders during the time when Houston developed new sports venues, expanded the Quality of Life agenda, added Houston's first Metro rail line, expanded the highway infrastructure for the region and played a leading role in the passage of key education policies and Federal legislation. I am an emeritus member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects; a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum; a co-creator of the Center for Houston's Future and the Houston Wilderness. I am an architect emeritus and a licensed real estate broker. I have served on a number of professional and community boards of directors. |
