What is a Tidbit?
TIDBIT - This I do Believe is True. These tidbits represent my thoughts on special subjects and are a tribute to my old friend and mentor to hundreds, Bill Caudill, FAIA.
Bill was one of the named founders of CRS, Caudill, Rowlett and Scott, the international architecture firm where I was honored to practice from 1975-80. Bill wrote teaching pieces called TIBS which stood for "This I Believe." He did that to write down his thoughts and beliefs for his kids. He told me that when his kids paid no attention to them, he expanded his audience to his partners, colleagues, the students at Rice and Texas A&M where he taught architecture. Over his career he wrote and published over 1500 of them. They are still available online from the CRS Center at A&M.
Bill graduated from this life in 1984. I have adopted TIDBIT as a way to "tip my hat" to him as the creative source that he was. Hopefully my TIDBITS will pass along a few musings that you might enjoy like I enjoyed Bill's TIBs.
